Thank and Grow Rich: A 30-Day Experiment in Shameless Gratitude and Unabashed Joy
by Pam Grout.

What happens when another Gratitude author starts reading other gratitude books? Hot off the press, Pam Grout in Thank and Grow Rich has created an amazing book that I almost missed.

Dear old Amazon pointed me in the direction of this book which, to be honest, I would have ignored if a friend had not also mentioned it to me within the space of a few days. Yes, I admit that the title didn’t speak to me. I thought we were heading down the Law of Attraction highway in a stolen truck with ‘Gratitude’ plastered up the side. But then there was this beautiful statement in the title….  ‘shameless gratitude‘ – a concept that I can totally get behind – hurrah for shameless gratitude, unabashed joy and other wonders! Perhaps I should try it? A sneaky peek on Kindle perhaps?

I am glad I did.

I love this book because it is not what it seems: it isn’t about “growing rich” in the monetary sense! It is more glorious than that! It sees you having a portfolio of riches that has nothing to do with cash, large houses and shiny cars. She speaks of four ways to look at your riches (your big and beautiful life!): 1. Alchemic Capital; 2. Spiritual Capital; 3. Creative capital; 4. Adventure capital; and 5. Social Capital. Gratitude will increase your life’s portfolio – my goodness isn’t that a fun idea? Doesn’t it make you want to play? She refers to it as the “extreme sport of gratitude” which I refer to as “deep gratitude” but I have to be honest: her turn of phrase is much funkier!

I am only some of the way through the 30 day challenges but I am enjoying the process greatly and really believe that Pam Grout has made an excellent contribution to the field of Gratitude work. If you dig books with a vibrational slant on the world you will have so much fun!

  1. Tammy, will you blog about your 30 day challenge? I’m curious what it entails!

PS: what is somebody’s Alchemic Capital?

  2. Hi Tammy, so nice to read your blog again. I love books with a vibrational slant! But I’m just looking at my bookshelves and I have about 20 unread books waiting to find the time to read! I will put it on my wish list.
