  1. Very nice collection, Tammy! 🙂
“Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude“ is my favorite.
I once had a “fight” with someone when I said my goal in life was to be happy. He thought this was not a goal.

    • Gratitude seems to inspire some very poetic reactions!

    • Hum…..happiness isn’t a goal? I think it is a more genuine goal than, for example. earn enough money to buy a shiny red car. Why do you want a shiny red car? To make you happy? Why not just skip straight to the happy part? (and material objects can’t make you happy!!! You might get some nice happy thinking going on for a while …. but it’s the thinking, not the object that is creating the experience called happy!)

  2. Nice collection of quotes! I really like this one “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see“. Good luck with your book!

    • I love how we all live in our own worlds! Nothing shows this more than when we look at something and our thinking moulds our reaction to it! My cousin may see a rustic bench under a tree whereas my aunt might see a bench falling to pieces, covered in slimy leaves! Neither is right or wrong, good or bad. Both are seeing a scene through the filter of their thinking. When we know we are thinking about what we see, then we can look through our thinking, see a bench and perhaps have a rest on it!

  3. I love the quote:

“The more you are in a state of gratitude, the more you will attract things to be grateful for.”

    – Walt Disney
What you put out there, you will get in return. I feel like some of these grouchy expat forums just lend to people being grouchier, so I had to delete them and not let that kid of thinking into my world. If we are kind and put out the positive, we will get that in return as we are expecting it and searching it out. Hurray for being grateful.

    • Absolutely! The gratitude experience is so lovely that we find ourselves looking for more things to be grateful for. We get used to hanging out in the yummy feeling! I also notice that if I expose myself to areas of life with materials that increase ungrateful thoughts, i become more low in mood. So yes, I stop hanging out there 😉

    • That is why I share them as a free downloadable e-book! They can be a little overwhelming in their gloriousness in one sitting: A bit like a very rich chocolate cake that can be enjoyed in small pieces!
